Personal Information:

Caleb Emerson was born 1 Dec 1812 in Douglas, Worcester County, Massachusetts2. He was the son of Joseph Emerson and Comfort Logee.

When Caleb's grandfather, Joseph Emerson Sr., died in 1830 he was listed in the will3. A guardianship action was initiated as part of the probate. On 4 Mar 1834 a guardian was appointed for Caleb and his brother, Aaron, as they were deemed "unable to care for themselves."4 The appointed guardian was Wm Jepherson. It is not known what specific condition prompted the court action.

On 24 Jul 1838 Caleb married Lurana Alger of Burrillville, R.I. in Douglas, Massachusetts5. In 1850 their family was residing in Douglas6. Caleb's occupation was listed in that year's census as laborer and their household included six minors, presumably their children. In 1860 their family was still residing in Douglas7. Caleb's occupation was listed as farmer in that census year. Lurana probably died prior to 18708. In that year Caleb and some of his children were living in the household of Wm Chase. Lurana was not listed.

No further information has been found for this family group.
