Personal Information:
Juda/Judah/Judith Emerson was born 29 Apr 1815 (possibly 1814) in Douglas, Maassachusetts4. She was the daughter of Joseph Emerson and Comfort Logee. On 23 Mar 1839 a marriage intention was record in Douglas for Juda Emerson and Silas T. Brown5.
Silas Brown was born 24 Jun 1803 in Massachusetts6. In 1850 his family was residing in Douglas7. His occupation was listed in that year's census as blacksmith. It also listed four of their presumed children. Silas Brown died on 2 Dec 1867. He was buried in South Street Cemetery in Douglas.
Juda/Judah/Judith had not re-married by 18708. In that census she was listed with her daughter Elora (this time spelled Eldard). The record had at least two errors. It listed Juda as a male and "Eldard" as age 22 instead of age 12 and gave her an occupation as teacher. However it was the correct household. It was listed in the same proximity to the John Caswell household as it was in the 1850 census. Juda/Judah/Judith died on 14 Dec 1894. She was buried by her husband in South Street Cemetery.
