Personal Information:

Charles M. Logee was born 26 Aug 1864, possibly in Springfield, Illinois2. He was the son of Sylvannus Logee and Elizabeth Hunley or Ferguson.

In 1880 Charles was residing with his brother Pleasant Logee in St. Louis, Missouri3. at that time he was working as a shoe laster. A shoe laster was a person whose occupation was to shape boots or shoes, or place leather smoothly, on lasts, a tool for stretching leather. By 1895 he had moved to Toledo, Ohio. On 5 Mar 1895 he married Dora E. Kruse in that city4. Charles and Dora had at least 3 children. Dora was born 9 Nov 1875 in Hanover, Germany5.

In 1900 Charles and his family were residing in Ross township, Wood County, Ohio6. He was working as a Railroad Brakeman. That year's census record listed his wife, 3 children and his sister, Hattie, in his household. On 2 May 1902 Dora (Kruse/Kruss) Logee died in Toledo. The cause of her death was listed as Septisamen. Since her son Wilbur/Walter was born that year, it is possible her death was related to his birth. Dora was buried in Forest Cemetery in Toledo.

Charles married 2nd Emma L. Schaefer. Emma was born 29 Sep 1870 in Hamburg, Germany7. She was the daughter of David Schafer. In 1920 his family was residing in Toledo8. Charles was working as a clerk in a Grocer's Store. The census record for his family listed Charles and Emma's daughter Isabelle and also included two of Emma's children from her prior marriage, Hilda and Robert Schultz. Emma's birth place was listed in that record as Hamburg, Germany. It further indicated that she came to the U.S. in 1870 and was naturalized in 1896.

In 1930 Charles' family was still residing in Toledo9. His occupation was listed as a Porter in a plumbing store. On 16 Dec 1930 Charles Logee died in Toledo10. The cause was listed as Cerebral Hemorrhage. He was buried in Forest Cemetery. Emma died many years later on 27 Oct 1951 in the Lucas County11. She was also buried in Forest Cemetery. Two stillborn children were buried in the Charles Logee family plot. It is possible the first child was of Emma. The second baby was almost certainly the child of son, Albert Logee. The two children died 3 Jul 1915 and 25 Aug 1924 respectively12.
