Personal Information:

Rachel Logee was born on 30 May 1814 in Douglas, Worcester Co., Massachusetts4. She was the daughter of Daniel Logee and Mary Holbrook.

On 28 Jan 1835 she married Horace Sherman in Douglas, Mass.5 He was born 24 Jan 1812 in Douglas. He was the son of Dutee/Duty Sherman. By 1850 Horace and Rachel Sherman had moved to Guernsey County, Ohio6. They were residing near her father, Daniel Logee. In 1850 Horace listed his occupation as farmer. When Daniel Logee died, his daughter was mentioned in his will as Rachel, wife of Horace Sherman7.

Horace and Rachel then moved their family to Edgar County, Illinois. They had settled in that area at least by the year 1866. It was in that year that  their daughter, Mary, married William Seals in Edgar County. Horace's parents also moved to Edgar County. His parents died in the 1870s and were buried in Embarras Cemetery8. Horace and Rachel were residing in Embarras, Edgar County in 18809. Their death dates have yet to be established.
