Olney Logee was born 31 Aug 1802 at Burrillville1. He was the son of Darling and Polly C. (Hopkins) Logee. Following his father's early death, he was first under the guardianship of his Uncle Dorphin Logee2. His final settlement of the estate, provided him with some chairs worth $60.95 and a note for $103.383. About this time he made a few land transactions before leaving the Burrillville area.
He was married to Mary S. Martin 13 May 1829 at Warwick, Rhode Island by the Rev. Mr. Wilson5. Mary Salbury Martin was born about 1800, probably in Rehoboth, Massachusetts6. She was the daughter of Ephraim and Rebecca (Salbury or Salisbury) Martin. Three children appear to have been born to this couple. Each of these children listed their father as Olney Logee on their marriage record, and two listed their mother as Mary S. Logee7.
Olney and Mary Logee moved to Providence by 1840 and spent most of their lives in that city8;9;10. Olney was a carpenter by trade. Olney Logee died 8 Nov 1865 at Providence, Rhode Island11. The cause of death was listed as Consumption. His age at death was 64y 9m and his occupation was carpenter. His residence address at the time of his death was 61 Cranston.
By 1880 Mary was residing with her daughter Mary Lester's family12. In 1875, daughter Rachel Cornelia was living in what appears to have been a rooming house on Broad St. in Providence and listed her profession as sales lady13. Mary followed in death on 12 Feb 1892 at Attleboro, Massachusetts14. The cause of her death was listed as Old Age. The burial location for Olney and Mary Logee has not been located.
