Personal Information:
Laura Emma Logee was born 22 Nov 1857, probably in Burrillville, Rhode Island11;12. She was the daughter of Albert and Almira (Tourtellotte) Logee. On 6Apr 1881 she married Leverett Chapman Burrill13. Leverett C. Burrill was born 10 Feb 1852 in Putnam. He was the son of Simeon Burrill and Almeada Bates14.
The family appears to have spent their lives in the Putnam area. In 1900 Leverett listed his occupation as farmer15. In 1910, he was listed as Operator in a Saw Mill and in 1920 as Sawyer at a Saw Mill16;17. Their oldest daughter, Clara, was living in their household in 1910 and listed her occupation as School Teacher.
By 1920 all of Leverett and Laura's children were married. It would be just one year later that Leverett would die. On 21 Apr 1921 he passed away in East Putnam18. His obituary noted his occupation as Miller. It stated he was well known in the Thompson area where local farmers brought their grain to his grist mill. It further mentioned that he and his family regularly attended the Baptist meeting house before it had burned down. He was buried in Munyan Cemetery in Putnam, Connecticut. At some time following his death, Laura made her home with her daughter, Clara19. Following Clara's death, Laura apparently began living with her daughter Anna Hayden20.
On 6 Oct 1950 Laura died at age 92. Her funeral was conducted by Rev. Percy F. Smith, minister of the Methodist church. She was buried by her husband, Leverett, with her information inscribed on their family tombstone.
