Personal Information:
Susan was born about 1854 probably in Burrillville, Rhode Island1;2;3. She was the daughter of Albert and Almira Tourtellotte Logee. On 23 Dec 1874 she married Julius C. Freeman in Webster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Julius was born about 1847 the son of George and Adeline Freeman. At the time of his marriage he listed his occupation as farmer.
On 8 Jun 1877 their daughter Alice Justina Freeman was born in Webster4. She would be their only child. In 1880 the family was still living in Webster but Julius now listed his occupation as wool sorter5. About 1903 their daughter, married Albert J. Hersey6. Albert was an immigrant who arrived from Canada between 1892 and 18946. In both the 1910 and 1920 Census, Albert indicated he was Naturalized and in 1920 gave the year of Naturalization as 1901.
In 1910 both the Julius Freeman family and Albert Hersey family were living in the same household at 25 Vine St. in Winchester, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Julius was working as a foreman in a machine shop and Albert as a merchant in hardware. Both families continued to be listed together in Winchester in 19207. By this time Julius was age 73 and Susan age 65. It appears that between 1920 and 1930 both Julius Freeman and Alice (Freeman) Hersey died8. In that census year Albert Hersey and Susan Freeman were still living together in Winchester and were respectively listed as widower and widow. Since Albert and Alice Hersey did not have any children, this branch of the family does not continue.
