Personal Information:

Minerva Taft was born about Dec 1849 in Rhode Island2. She was the daughter of William and Arrena (Logee) Taft. Minerva married Albert Kimball about 1873. Albert Kimball was born about Jun 1842 in New Hampshire.

In 1880 the family was residing in Burrillville, Rhode Island3. At that time they had one son, William H. Kimball age 5. Albert indicated on that census record that his parents were both born in New Hampshire. By 1900 they had moved to Oxford, Worcester County, Massachusetts. In that year they were living at a Almshouse [poor house]. Though he was listed as a farmer, it appears that Albert may have been the caretaker of that facility. Sometime before 1920 the family had moved to Thompson, Connecticut4. Albert listed his occupation as a farmer. In that census son Albert L. was listed as a widower and grandchildren were included in their household. Based on the 1910 Census for Albert L. Kimball, one child listed as dau-in-law may actually of been his child5. In 1910, Albert and Minerva's son William H. Kimball was also living in Thompson6.

An article in the Woonsocket Call in 1964, provided some information on this family group. It particularly outlined the life of son, William H. Kimball. At that time he was still living in Thompson. The focus of the article was the Burrillville School in the Logee District. This one room school house was where William and probably the other Kimball children received their early education. The school had already been replaced at the time of the article.
