Personal Information:
Albert Logee appears to have spent his entire life in the area of Burrillville, Rhode Island and Northeastern Connecticut. Albert was born 28 Jun 1833 and was the son of Linus Logee and Hannah Sherman1;2. On 13 Jun 1852 he married Almira Tourtellot in Thompson, Connecticut3. Almira was born 4 Aug 1834 in Connecticut4.
Both the 1860 and 1870 Census listed Albert's occupation as shoemaker5. Between those dates, Albert's family moved from Burrillville, R.I. to Killingly, Conn. Though no birth records were found for Albert and Almira's children, census records provided the family connections and approximate birth dates. On 1 Jun 1872, Hannah Logee, Albert's mother, was appointed as the guardian of the minor heirs of Albert Logee6. This was probably in relation to the estate of Zadoc Sherman, Hannah's father, as one of Almon's children, Ossian, had a similar action taken at that time. By 1880 Albert's family had moved to Thompson, Conn7. In that census, he listed his occupation as farmer. His son Francis A. Logee was listed with a disability but the writing was not clear enough to decipher the information.
On 14 Jan 1897 Albert died at Thompson, Connecticut8. The primary cause of death was Brights Disease, a generic term applied to serious diseases of the kidneys. A secondary cause of death was listed as Gangrene of the foot. Albert was buried in the New East Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, Conn. His wife was named as executor of his estate on 27 Mar 18979.
In the following years it appears that Almira made her home with her children. In 1900 she was listed in the household of her son, Linus A. Logee in Thompson10. In 1910 she was living with her daugher, Laura (Logee) Burrill in Putnam, Connecticut11. On 28 Feb 1913 Almira followed her husband in death. She was buried beside her Albert in the New East Thompson Cemetery.
