Personal Information:

Almon Logee was  born about 22 Jul 1831 in Thompson, Connecticut1;2. Almon Logee was the son of Linus Logee and Hannah Sherman. When Almon was only seven years old, his father died. His mother, Hannah, was appointed as his guardian3.

On 11 Jan 1855 Almon was married to Minerva Joslin in Thompson by Isaac Sherman, clergyman 4. Minerva was the daughter of Arthur Joslin and Azenath Munyan5. Shortly after their marriage they moved to New Jersey. In 1860 Almon's family was residing at Acquacknonk, Passaic Co., New Jersey6. Their children Ossian (listed as Ossier) and Theresa both had N.J. listed as their birthplace. Almon's occupation was listed as school teacher, he had $150 value in personal goods, and the family had a servant. In1866 Zadoc Sherman, Almon's grandfather, sold Almon 8 acres 130 rods of land in Thompson for $1007. The sale identified them as "Zadoc Sherman of Burrillville" and Almon Logee of Bellville, County of Essex, New Jersey." In 1870 Almon's family was still living in Bellville and his profession continued to be listed as school teacher8.

By 22 May 1872 Almon and his family were residing in Thompson9. On that date Almon was appointed s guardian of "Ossian Logee, a minor, residing in said district" to manage the estate of said minor. This guardianship was related to the estate of Zadoc Sherman (Ossian's great-grandfather). However, Ossian would not live to adulthood. Ossian died of Typhoid Fever on 28 Nov 1876 in Thompson at age 1910. His occupation at the time of his death was carpenter.

Only one year later Almon followed his son in death. Almon Logee died on 13 Jun 1877 in Thompson of Cancer. He was buried in the Old East Thompson Cemetery. Following his death, Minerva and their last surviving child, Theresa, moved to Oxford, Worcester County, Massachusetts9. In the 1900 Census, Minerva was again shown with her daughter, who had since married James Fisher and was living in Worcester10. It was in Worcester where Minerva passed away on 1 Nov 1908 aged 77y 5m 26d. She was buried by her husband in  the Old East Thompson Cemetery.
