Personal Information:

Linus Allen Logee was born 20 Sep 1855, the son of Albert Logee and Almira Tourtellotte5. On 31 Dec 1881 he married Alice Sheldon6. Alice was born 8 Mar 1862 in Thompson and was the daughter of Wm. E. Sheldon and Emerline Keach7.

The Linus Allen Logee family quickly grew as they set up their household in Thompson. On 25 Nov 1882, their first son William was born8. This was followed two years later with daughter Edith and three years later, son John9. There was a space of 12 years before their last child, Bertha was born. In the 1900 census Linus' family was listed in Thompson10. Linus was identified as a farmer. His mother Almira was living in their household. Again in 1910, the family was shown in Thompson with the only change being that their son Warren had married and moved a few homes away11.

On 23 Sep 1913 Alice M. Logee passed away. The cause of her death was listed as Brights Disease (a serious disease of the kidneys). She was buried in Munyan Cemetery in Putnam, Conn12. Three years later, on 25 Oct 1916, Linus married Lena Perne Rawson13. Lena was born 14 Sep 1866 in Thompson and was the daughter of Nathan Rawson and Hannah Miller14. Though she was 50 years old when she married, her marriage license listed this as her first marriage.

Linus and Lena spent over 30 years together15;16;17. In 1920 and 1930 Linus listed his occupation as a Lumberman in the lumber business. On 23 Jan 1947 Linus Allen Logee died in Thompson. His cause of death was listed as Cerebral Apoplexy. In that same year, on 8 Aug 1947, Lena followed him in death. Though her residence was still considered Thompson, she died in a place called The Haven in Pomfret, Conn. Both Linus and Lena were also buried in Munyan Cemetery and their names were listed on the large family tombstone. As time passed, some of their descendants would be buried with them and their names inscribed on the opposite side of this family marker.
