Personal Information:

Gilbert Seth Taft was born about Jan 1845 in Rhode Island1. He was the son of William and Arrena (Logee) Taft. Gilbert married Ellen (unknown) about 1873 based on the birth dates of their children. In 1900 their family was living in Burrillville, Rhode Island and Gilbert listed his occupation as farmer. At that time his mother Arrena was living in their household.

Gilbert and Ellen were still  in Burrillville in 1910 and he was still listed as a farmer2. In 1910 they were living in the home of their daughter Ada (Taft) Buxton. Since Charles and Ellen were not found in the 1920 Census, it is possible that he died in the influenza epidemic following WWI. All of their children were still in Burrillville in 1920 and at least some remained in that area through 19303;4;5.
