Personal Information:
Lorenzo Logee was born about 3 Jan 1819 in Burrillville, Rhode Island3. He was the son of Elisha and Jerusha (Kimball) Logee.
When his father died in 1839, Lorenzo was nominated as executor of the estate.4 He declined that responsibility. As part of the estate settlement, he recieved on third of Elisha's land. On 27 Jan 1840, Lorenzo appointed Horace Kimball (Lorenzo's cousin) as his attorney to sell some of the property.5 The transaction was completed on 10 Mar 1841 when Lorenzo deeded the property to Clovis H. Rowin.6 Lorenzo also sold 50 acres of his portion of the estate to his brother, James K. Logee on 19 Mar 1840.7 In the same year he sold another 13 acres of the Burrillville land to Charles H. Childs.8
In 1850 Lorenzo was residing in the household of his step-father Reuben Smith in Burrillville.9 He soon moved to Killingly, Connecticut where he was married to Naoma Chase on 6 Feb 1843.10 Naoma was born about 1820, the daughter of Oliver Chase.11
While residing in the Killingly area, Lorenzo's mother, Jerusha Smith, transferred 14 acres of property on Wolf Hill in Burrillville to him for $25.12 That property was originally given to Lorenzo's grandmother Susannah Logee by her father. Lorenzo and Naoma were residing in Killingly in 1860, where the census listed his occupation as "saloon business."13 One year later their only child Aaron Logee was born. Aaron only survived until 24 May 1863 when he died in Killingly.
By 1871 Lorenzo and Naoma had moved back to Burrillville. On 26 Feb 1871 Naoma died of Heart Disease in that town. In 1875 Lorenzo was residing in Glocester, Rhode Island.14 He remained there the last few years of his life. He died in Glocester on 3 Dec 1879 of Cerosis of the Liver. No probate was found for Lorenzo and no burial site has been found for any member of this family group.
