Ellen Daggett was born about 1846 in Rhode Island1. She was the daughter of Sullivan and Ruth (Logee) Daggett. On 19 Jun 1867 she was married to Frank J. Oatley by Mowry Phillip, clergyman, in Burrillville, R.I. Frank was the son of Lorenzo and Elizabeth A. Oatley and was born in East Killingly, Connecticut.
By 1880 the family had moved to Killingly2. Their young son Lorenzo who, had been born that year, died in 1881 before his first birthday.3:4
