Personal Information

Henry Leroy Logee Logee was born 25 Aug 1872 in Rhode Island1. He was the son of Zenas and Julia (Hastings) Logee. He was destined to lead a troubled life. In 1899 a case was filed in the Rhode Island Courts accusing Henry of stealing $4.26 from the store of James H. Smith in Burrillville2. The 1900 U.S. Census, listed him as a Jail Prisoner in Rhode Island State Prison and Providence County3.

A verbal tradition in that branch of the family added to the evaluation4. "Henry was often in trouble. His sister Adelaide would not speak to him. When he died 17 Aug 1917 at Hillgrove, Rhode Island, his body was sent back to Burrillville for burial5. He was buried at State expense. Though he was buried in the family plot, his sister refused to go to there for the grave service."
