Mathias Bever was born in 18521. On 10 Apr 1879 he married Jennie Brant in Fountain Co.2 Jeannette "Nettie" was born in 1860 and was the daughter of Christopher Brant and Harriet Thompson. Mathias was a surveyor and well known throughout Fountain County3. He died from consumption on 7 Jul 1901 at his home in Waynetown. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Commandery and the Knights Templar.

Jennette was a lifelong resident of the Fountain County area4. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Hillsboro. She died on 13 Jul 1919 of cancer at the home of her daughter Hattie Loper, three miles east of Hillsboro. Christopher and Jeannette were buried in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Montgomery Co.
